GRAVTON PLATFORM
Catalog Enrichment
Make every product complete, consistent, and easy to recommend
Shopping assistants compare products by important details: what a product is made of, what it fits, how it is used, and what it’s guaranteed for. They pull answers from your product feed, pages, and what others say about you. If a shopper asks about something missing, inconsistent, or hidden in an image, the system either guesses or chooses a product with clear information. Catalog Enrichment finds those gaps for every SKU and fills them, so the right information is always available up front.
WHAT WE CHECK
Checks on every product
Each check starts from the questions shoppers actually ask.
The process is dynamic. Gravton can baseline your catalog before any changes. Deeper checks begin once the first shopper questions are answered, showing which product details each question needs. As answers change, the checks run again.
Is it there?
Whether the product answers what shoppers ask: the key attributes, descriptions and FAQs for its use cases, fit and compatibility, materials, how it is made, care, warranty and who it isn’t for.
“Shoppers ask about warranty and care. Your page answers neither.”
Is it working?
Whether information you already have shows up in AI answers, and whether competitors get credit for qualities your product also has.
“Your product is waterproof, but AI credits a competitor.”
Is the feed complete and consistent?
Whether products are eligible to appear, whether feed fields, identifiers, categories and attributes are filled, and whether price, stock, variants and product facts match across your site, feed and marketplaces.
“Your feed is missing identifiers, lists variants your site doesn’t, and shows a different price.”
Can AI read it?
Whether key facts sit in text and structured data AI can read, or only inside images such as spec tables and size charts.
“Your size chart is an image, so AI can’t use it.”
HOW IT WORKS
From the question to the fix
Most catalogs aren’t wrong—they’re just incomplete. Enrichment fills the gaps.
01
Start from real shopper questions
Gravton maps each SKU to the shopper questions it should win, using the demand for your brand. It then reviews the answers to see what information was needed and what your product didn’t provide.
02
Fix what keeps products out first
The order matters. A product that can’t appear gains nothing from better copy. Gravton fixes eligibility and consistency problems first, then the fields that matter most, then page content.
03
Write in a brand-compliant voice
New sections, FAQs, and spec blocks are written based on the exact questions shoppers ask, always in your brand voice and within your guidelines. Regulated or intellectual-property claims go to your team for sign-off before they are published.
04
Approve, ship and re-measure
You review sample changes before anything goes live. Shopify is the main route: through a direct integration, many approved changes go live automatically, in real time. Gravton also works with other commerce platforms and custom stacks through Google Merchant Center, supplemental feeds, or catalog exports. For marketplaces only your team can edit, Gravton prepares ready-to-publish updates. The questions are then re-run, and Measurement shows what moved.
05
Keep it dynamic
Enrichment isn’t a one-time cleanup. The first pass sets the baseline and fixes the foundation. After that, it keeps running as answers, products, seasons, and shopper questions change. Automated workflows handle the process, so your whole catalog stays up to date—not just a sample.
ILLUSTRATIVE
Product
Two-burner induction cooktop
Shopper question
“Which induction cooktop works on both 110V and 220V, has a replaceable glass top and at least a two-year warranty?”
Before
The page covers wattage and design. Voltage appears only in a manual PDF. Glass replacement isn’t mentioned. The warranty sits on a separate policy page.
Gaps found
Voltage: Hidden. Replaceable glass: Missing. Warranty: Hidden. Feed fields for all three: empty.
Changes
Specs moved into text, FAQs added on glass replacement and warranty, feed fields completed, structured data updated
What it tells you
The product met every part of the question, but AI couldn’t confirm it. Rather than piece it together from a manual and a policy page, AI recommended a product that answered all three up front. Enrichment puts the right information where AI looks first.
WHY IT MATTERS
Built for catalogs, not single product pages
Different shopping systems read from different sources. Some use product feeds like Google Merchant Center, others use your commerce platform’s catalog, and all check your product pages and third-party sources. A change must land in the right place and stay consistent everywhere.
Changes land in three places. The examples below show the kind of changes Gravton looks at, not the full list.
Product feed
Feed fields, identifiers, categories and supplemental attributes
Store catalog
Titles, descriptions and product details, which also update the product page on platforms like Shopify
Product page
Content sections, FAQs, structured data and image alt text
We learned the cost of a stale catalog at scale. Running a 65-million-product catalog, our team saw shoppers land on pages where the price had already changed. Sending a smaller, cleaner catalog to external channels improved the shopper experience, and conversion followed. New ways of shopping raise the stakes on the same problem.
Catalog Enrichment works from the gaps found in Product & Retail Intelligence, and Measurement tracks the effect of every change.
FAQs on catalog enrichment
Will enrichment change how my products look to shoppers?
Which platforms do you work with?
Our product pages are already well written. Do we still need this?
How many products do you enrich?
Do reviews matter?
Reviews are part of the product information these systems read. Where review coverage is thin, or reviews aren’t reaching your feed, Gravton flags it as a priority.
